Alhambra Night Tour vs. Day Visit: Which Should You Book?

Most first-time visitors default to a daytime ticket without realizing the Alhambra also runs separate night visits to the Nasrid Palaces and the Generalife. They're not the same experience wearing a different time stamp — here's what actually changes.

What a Day Visit Gets You

The full General ticket — Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba, Generalife gardens, and Charles V Palace — in daylight, at your own pace, with the option to spend as long as you like in the Alcazaba's towers or the Generalife's terraces once you're past your timed Nasrid Palaces window. It's the only way to see the whole complex in one visit.

What a Night Visit Gets You

Just the Nasrid Palaces (or just the Generalife, on separate tickets) — around €12.73 for the Palaces, €8.48 for the Generalife — but with the day's crowds gone and the Court of the Lions lit for evening viewing. It's a noticeably quieter, cooler experience, especially valuable in the June-to-August heat, though you won't see the Alcazaba or the full grounds on a night ticket alone.

So, Which Should You Book?

First visit to Granada and only one shot at the Alhambra? Book the day ticket — it's the only way to see everything. Already doing a day visit, or coming back for a second trip, and want to see the Palaces in a genuinely different light — literally? Add the night visit. Visiting in peak summer and heat is a real concern? The night visit alone is a legitimate way to see the site's best-known section without the midday crush.
