Book the First Slot You Can

Nothing beats the earliest entry time of the day. The Court of the Lions is noticeably quieter, the light is softer for photos, and you're not shuffling behind a tour group of forty trying to see the stucco ceilings. It's the single easiest way to have a noticeably better visit.

Skip Midday, June Through August

That window is when the Alhambra is at its hottest and most crowded, especially with tour buses arriving mid-morning. Booked an Alhambra guided tour? Ask your provider whether an early-morning or late-afternoon slot is available — most offer several throughout the day.

Book Weeks, Not Days, Ahead

This is the one that catches people out: Nasrid Palaces slots for spring and summer dates regularly sell out one to three months in advance, and Semana Santa week sells out even further ahead. Showing up in Granada and hoping to grab a same-day ticket is a real gamble outside the quietest winter weeks.

A little. November through February is calmer overall, and even popular slots move faster — though it can be genuinely cold up on the hill. April through October is Granada's busiest stretch by a wide margin — if that's your trip, book your entry time as far ahead as you can.

Consider a Night Visit

If your dates fall in peak summer, a Nasrid Palaces night visit sidesteps both the heat and the daytime crowds entirely — and the Court of the Lions lit up after dark is arguably the better version of the same view.
